Aspen Reinsurance has appointed Michael Dicker as global head ofits Agriculture reinsurance business.
|Dicker will be responsible for strategically directing AspenRe's Agriculture product line, and for leading Aspen Re's NorthAmerican Agriculture reinsurance business in an effort to expandunderwriting activities into this market.
|He will be based in Dublin but will work closely withunderwriters in Miami, London, Singapore and Zurich.
|Once Dicker joins Aspen Re in mid-October, he will reportjointly to Peter Emblin, managing director and head of Casualty& Specialty Insurance and to Mike Sowa, managing director ofAspen Re North America.
|“Michael has a wealth of reinsurance and global industryexperience working in senior roles in both underwriting andbroking, specializing in agriculture lines,” says Emblin. “This isan important and growing market segment for us and Michael isideally qualified to manage our Agriculture reinsurance businessglobally as well as leading and having specific underwritingresponsibility for our North American Agriculture reinsurancebusiness.”
|Dicker has more than 26 years of experience specializing inagriculture insurance. Most recently, Dicker was head ofagriculture at Alterra Group, as well as Alterra's agricultureunderwriting manager at Lloyd's Syndicate 1400. Previously, heworked for Guy Carpenter Group Global Agriculture SpecialtyPractice and at Agricola Underwriting Ltd, which he co-founded.
