Jane Barker has been named the new Chairperson of Marsh Ltd.,where she has served as a non-executive director since 2010. Shewill replace Peter Middleton, who is retiring from the position onAug. 1.

Barker has been the CEO of Equitas for six years; previously,she was CEO of the London Stock Exchange. She also has a 14-yearhistory working for Marsh, where she was named Managing Directorand International Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in 1988.

“It has been gratifying to watch Marsh progress from strength tostrength in the three years since I rejoined the company,” saysBarker. “I look forward to working with Mark and the UKleadership team to ensure we remain fully-focused on serving theneeds of clients and providing them with world-classsolutions.”

Mark Weil, Marsh Ltd. CEO, says, “Since joining the board, Janehas made a substantial contribution to the company. With herextensive background in financial services and her deep knowledgeof our business, she is ideally placed to provide strong advice andguidance for our UK operations.”

Barker is also a member of bout Council of the Royal College ofMusic and a lay canon and member of the Chapter of SalisburyCathedral.

Middleton, former Barclays Capital chairman, will remain UKchairman and country corporate officer for Marsh Ltd.'s parentcompany, Marsh & McLennan, and chairman of sister companyMercer Ltd.
