Mexican hi-tech manufacturer Tecnologia Aeroespecial Mexicana(TAM) produces personal-use jetpacks called Rocket Belt that arepowered by a hydrogen peroxide-based propulsion system. Originallydesigned by Bell Aerosystems for use by the U.S. military in the1960s, that plan was eventually scrapped; now TAM and a Bellsuccessor are the world's only manufacturers of the belt-stylepersonal propulsion systems. TAM custom designs each unit toaccommodate a pilot's weight and to offset such flightcharacteristics as balance, stability and control. Today's Fetish Roadster is a two-seat,rear-wheel-drive electric car that owes much of its allure to alight-weight design featuring a carbon fiber body, and advancedLithium Ion batteries that are liquid-cooled and placed in aT-formation in the center of the vehicle for optimum performanceand road handling. The Venturi can reach 60mph in under fiveseconds and hit speeds as high as 106 mph; depending on individualdriving style and road conditions, one electric charge can last upto 150 miles. The Cosmo, a luxury whirlpool TV bath model from UK manufacturerDi Vapor, features 23 adjustable air and water massage jets and a17-inch touch-sensitive LCD TV with video input. It also includes afunction that automatically shuts down and drains the tub toprevent accidental drowning. The company, which specializes inluxury steam showers, steam shower cabins, home steam sauna rooms,infrared saunas and whirlpool baths, created this one-personhydromassage TV bathtub after receiving great feedback on a priortwo-person model. Cost:$7,000.

The Killer WhaleSubmarine

Not to be outdone by a fleet of yellow subs, luxury toy purveyorHammacher Schlemmer launched its own streamlined, two-personwatercraft designed to look and respond like an Orcinusorca, or killer whale. Twin control levers move the whale'spectoral fins to produce rolls and dives; dual foot pedals and thecraft's 255-hp supercharged Rotax axial flow engine enable thecraft to mimic realistic marine behaviors. The cockpit's dashboardincludes a speedometer, tachometer, engine and air pressure gaugesand an LCD that displays live video from the dorsal fin's built-incamera. The orca can hydroplane over the water's surface up to 50mph, and cruise up to 25 mph while submerged. Cost? A mere$100,000.
