Fireman's Fund Insurance Co. has named a new President and CEO, AndrewTorrance, to succeed Lori Fouche, who has left tobecome president and chief operating officer at PrudentialGroup.

Novato, Calif.-based Fireman's Fund says Fouche left the companyto pursue other opportunities to be closer to her family on theEast Coast. Fouche is from New Jersey, home to Prudential.

Fireman's Fund says it expects Torrance (pictured, left), 60, toassume his new role later this summer. He has more than 30 years ofexperience in the insurance industry, most recently serving as CEOof Allianz UK.

Fireman's Fund is part of the Allianz Group.

Prior to his appointment as CEO in 2003, he was the director andhead of the Allianz broker division. Torrance has also held seniorand board positions at consulting firms and insurers, includingLondon & Edinburgh and Boston Consulting Group.His appointment is still subject to approval by the board ofdirectors of Fireman's Fund Insurance Co.

Chairman of Fireman's Fund, Gary Bhojwani, thanked Fouche forher contribution and says he is confident in Torrance's ability tolead the company to be an expert provider of specialized insurancesolutions.

Torrance will be Fireman's Fund fifth CEO since 2007 when JoeBeneducci abrubtly left the company.

Prudential says Fouche (pictured, right) will have overallresponsibility for life, disability and voluntary productofferings, sales and account management as well as service deliveryand marketing. She will report to Stephen Pelletier, who has headedthe business since 2012 as president. He will become CEO ofPrudential Group Insurance.

Fouche—named CEO of Fireman's Fund in 2011,replacing Michael LaRocco —made an appearance June 11 anevent at the New York Public Library to celebrate the company's 150th anniversary. She passionately spoke to thecompany's history and support of fire departments while applaudingagents for their roles in the insurer's success.

Fouche joined Fireman's Fund in 2006 after working forseveral years for Chubb where she had risen to the rank of seniorvice president in Chubb Specialty Insurance. Prior to being namedCEO of Fireman's Fund, Fouche was president of CommercialInsurance. Before that, she was chief operating officer forFireman's Fund's specialty business.
