American International Group has added two new members to itsexecutive committee: John Doyle, CEO of its Property CasualtyGlobal Commercial Insurance unit; and Sid Sankaran, the company'schief risk officer.

AIG CEO and President Robert Benmosche announced theappointments, stating, “John and Sid are proven leaders, and theirappointments reflect the importance of their roles to the future ofAIG and their individual contributions.”

Benmosche says that over the years, the “Executive Group and theAIG board have come to rely on Sid and John for their expertguidance and keen insights.”

Doyle is responsible for AIG's commercial property and casualtybusinesses worldwide.

|

Previously, he served as president and CEO of Chartis U.S.,responsible for the company's property casualty and private clientbusinesses in the U.S. and Canada. Prior to that, he served asexecutive vice president of AIG's Property Casualty Group, andpresident and CEO of AIG Commercial Insurance.

He joined AIG in 1986.

Sankaran joined AIG in 2010 as chief risk officer. As such, heis responsible for setting AIG's global corporate strategyfor risk management – managing risks proactively to increaseprofitability, and helping to protect AIG's reputation, earningsand value.

He has spent his career working with financial servicescompanies, including a number of insurers, on risk managementissues.

|

Prior to joining AIG, Sankaran was a partner in the Finance andRisk practice at Oliver Wyman Financial Services.

Other members of the executive committee are Mike Cowan, chiefadministrative officer; Bill Dooley, head of investments; PeterHancock, CEO of AIG Property Casualty; David Herzog, CFO; JeffHurd, head of human resources and communications; Tom Russo,general counsel; Jay Wintrob, CEO of AIG Life and Retirement; andBenmosche.
