AmWINS announces three new promotions to senior vicepresident: Craig Dunn of AmWINS Brokerage of Texasin Dallas, Gary Buchanan of AmWINS Brokerage ofNew York and Jennifer Mier of AmWINS Brokerage ofTexas in Dallas. The brokerage also promoted three to vicepresident: Jon Danile of AmWINS Brokerage of NewYork, Mike Hines of AmWINS Brokerage of Georgiaand Tim Crvarich of AmWINS Insurance Brokerage ofCalifornia in San Francisco. Theresa Lally ofAmWINS Brokerage of New York was promoted to executive vicepresident.

IIABA named Sen. David Vitter(R.-La.) as the Gerald Solomon-IIABA Legislator of the Year 2012.Vitter was elected to the Senate in 2004 and re-elected in 2010. Heis the top Republician on the Committee on Environment and PublicWorks and also serves on the Committee on Small Business andEntrepreneurship, Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs,and the Committee on Armed Sercices. “Sen. Vitter has a longtrack record of standing up for small business, includingindependent agents in Louisiana and across the country,” said BobRusbuldt, Big “I” president & CEO, when presenting the award.“In his important role on the Senate Banking Committee, which hasprimary jurisdiction over insurance issues, he's a keydecision-maker on issues that directly impact our members. We thankhim for his leadership before Congress and in Louisiana to protectAmerica's Main Street businesses and as a steward of taxpayerdollars.”

IIABA also issued three agent awards at its Big “I”Legislative Conference. Brian McSherry ofIllinois received the Sidney O. Smith Award, bestowed foroutstanding service to peers and the national association in thefield of government affairs. Steve Thompson ofKentucky is the recipient of the Barney Burns Award for his work ashis state InsurPac chairman. The Independent InsuranceAgents of Iowa have received the Herndon Award, forthe state association's outstanding legislativeachievements.

IronPro launched Ironshore CrisisShield, whichcovers professional service expenses related to the development ofresponse strategies that mitigate adverse reputation consequencesof certain specified risk events. CrisisShield is available byendorsement to IronPro insureds and covers pre- and post- crisismanagement event costs incurred by these services. Response costsare covered for a range of crisis occurrences, including executivemisconduct, employment practices, bankruptcy, and cyber threats,among others.

Product Safety and Contamination insurance is now available fromRisk PlacementServices. The exclusive program is underwritten by ManchesterUnderwriting Management. Limits are available from $500,000 to $15million. The policy covers contamination or defects frombiological, physical, chemical, allergens and cross-contamination.Target clients are between $20 million and $100 million insales.
