Mark E. King has been promoted to chieflitigation counsel after holding the positions of senior litigationcounsel and assistant general counsel. KathyColangelo was elected regional vice president of thecompany. She joined in 1997 and currently serves as a director ofthe Florida Surplus Lines Assn.

Mark Wilson joined JLT Specialty as account executive of itsNottingham Risk Practice. He has more than 20 years of industryexperience, including 6 years as a loss adjuster, and will manageclient relationships and new client portfolios in his new position.JLT also appointed Paul Thyer as partner andmember of the Non-Mareine Treaty team. He has 32 years ofexperience within the reinsurance industry.

WillisNorth America appointed Bill Gilliam senior vicepresident of its Texas branch construction practice. He brings9 years of experience in the construction and insurance industriesto the role. Willis also brought on Mike Walsh asclient advocate, Willis of Maryland. He will be responsible fordeveloping and expanding Willis' footprint across the D.C. metroregion.

Jason F. Ernest was promoted to deputy CEO andcounsel with Insurance Agents & Brokers (IA&B).While at IA&B, he successfully represented the interests ofindependent agents before the Insurance Dept. and the CommonwealthCourt.

Guy Carpenter & Co. announced the appointments ofPaul Rayner and Andrew Beecroftas managing directors of GC Securities. Both Rayner and Beecroftwill be based in London and bring corporate finance and insuranceknowledge to the team from their previous experiences as seniormembers of Aon Benfield Securities.

Marsh & McLennan announced two acquisitions as part of itsongoing expansion initiative: Liscomb Hood Mason Co. is based in Duluth,Minn. and offers property-casualty and employee benefits productsto businesses and individuals state-wide. McGraw Wentworth, Inc. is an employee groupbenefits consulting and brokerage firm headquartered in Troy, Mich.with annual revenues of approximately $15 million.
