Endurance Specialty Holdings says it has launched a Global Trade Credit & Surety Reinsurance business.
Christoph Virchow has been hired as senior vice president and global head of the unit to lead the expansion of the company’s reinsurance portfolio in these specialty products, with a focus on the European, Asian Pacific and Latin American markets.
The Bermuda-based provider of P&C insurance and reinsurance says Virchow has more than 20 years of experience as a leader in the Trade Credit and Surety reinsurance market. He reports to Endurance’s Reinsurance CEO and is joined by Micaela Cojocaru, Erik Wesselink and Andreas Grieder. The team is based in Endurance’s Zurich office.

Virchow joins Endurance from Axis Re where, since 2003, he had underwriting responsibility for key Trade Credit and Surety accounts across several regions. Prior to Axis Re, Virchow held a similar role at Swiss Re. He started his career in the Credit and Bond reinsurance department of Zurich Insurance.
