Robert “Bobby” Bramlett was named the new chairman of theIndependent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America at theconclusion of the association's Fall Leadership Conference lastweek in Atlanta, the association says.

Bramlett is president and chief executive officer of theBramlett Agency in Ardmore, Okla. He began his insurance careerwith The Bramlett Agency in 1975 and has served in his currentposition since 1983.

The agency, which he purchased from his parents, Jim and JanieBramlett, celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2008.

Bramlett is past-president of Independent Insurance Agents ofOklahoma and most recently served as vice-chairman of IIABA.

|

In 2008, he received the IIABA's highest Government Affairsaward, the Sydney O. Smith National Legislative Award. He was alsogiven IIAO's highest award, The Eagle of Excellence Award, in2009.

Bramlett serves as a director of First National Bank and TrustCompany, trustee of The Glen Foundation, and as a trustee of St.John's Northwestern Military Academy, all in Oklahoma.

Bramlett replaces Mike Donohoe, who will serve on the committeeas immediate past-chairman for one year.

The IIABA also named Tom Minkler as chairman-elect; David Walkeras vice chairman, and Vaughn Graham as an at-large executivecommittee member.

Minkler is president of the Clark-Mortenson Agency in Keene,N.H., and is a past chairman of the New Hampshire Association ofInsurance Agents. He has championed the Consumer Agent Portal (CAP)project since 2009 and is past chairman of the IIABA GovernmentAffairs Committee.

Walker is president of Hartland Insurance Agency in Hartland,Mich. He began his insurance career in 1979, joining HartlandInsurance Agency as a producer and rising through its ranks.

Graham is president of Rich & Cartmill, Inc. headquarteredin Tulsa, Okla. He is a past chairman of the IIAO and has served onthe IIABA national board of directors.
