The Hartford named MatthewKirk senior vice president of sales and distribution forits Commercial Markets division. Jay Rosenblumsucceeds Kirk as senior vice president of government affairs.

Mark LeBlanc joined Crum & Forster (C&F) as vicepresident, crisis management. He has over ten years combinedexperience in crisis management products. He was a seniorunderwriter at Starr Idemnity & Liability Co. prior tojoining C&F.

Sterling& Sterling announced the addition of JosephSantospirito as president of its new Sterling ConstructionServices of New York unit. Carmine D'Angeloalso joined the unit as vice president. Sterling ConstructiveServices will focus on placing multi-million dollarconstruction insurance programs as well as capitalizing onimproving the economy and revitalizing buildings and infrastructurethroughout the nation.

Michael G. Green was appointed to vicepresident of IT operations for MGIS Cos. Inc. He will develop and implementstrategic IT systems for MGIS.

Brownyard Group announced the expansion of its pestcontrol program with PCOnova to include a new option designed forsmall pest control companies. PCOnova features include:

  • Pollution coverage
  • Termite coverage
  • Limited fumigation coverage
  • Lost key coverage
  • Care, custody and control coverage.

Iron-Starr launched a customized Lead E&ODifference-in-Conditions product, Pioneer for Professions, toaddress counter-party risk. It will offer coverage optionsincluding:

  • Wrongful refusal to pay an underlying carrier
  • Inability to pay resulting from the insolvency of an underlyingcarrier
  • Drop-down punitive damage protection by election.

Zurich reached an agreement with Sterling &Sterling Insurance Inc. to write party rooms and party rentalbusinesses (including mobile party rentals, inflatables and indoorparty inflatable play centers). This is the second program Zurichhas written with Sterling & Sterling as administrator,strengthening the relationship between the two companies as well asexpanding Zurich's commitment to the amusement industry.

The InVEST program honored BillDaniel with the InVEST Teacher of the Year Award. Danielis an 18 year veteran William R. Boone High School teacher inOrlando, Fla. The program strives to attract new talant to theinsurance industry and chose Daniel for his enthusiastic approachto leading the finanical literacy program at his school.
