Robert H. Benmosche, chief executive officer of AmericanInternational Group Inc., tells employees he thinks the company isunstoppable.

AIG wants to drive home the same point to the rest of the world,and is using YouTube to do it.

|

With nine uploaded videos (see two of the videos below thestory), AIG is telling viewers the company not only is upholdingits promise to repay the massive bailout given to it by thegovernment in 2008 so the company could stay afloat—but that it isthankful.

In a video titled, “Rebuilding Trust, Rebuilding AIG,” anunidentified company employee says, “We owe the American governmentand the American taxpayers a debt of gratitude. We have to now paythat back, and pay it back with interest.

“People have to hear that message.”

In another video, AIG outlines the history of the bailout, itseffort to become smaller and more-focused, and its promise to repaygovernment debt with a profit—a pact AIG says it fulfilled as itconverted government assistance to stock, which has been sold at aprofit.

“I didn't have any doubt that we would get it done,” saysBenmosche in one of the videos. “If we keep doing the right thingsand doing them fundamentally the right way, we're unstoppable as acompany.”

The comment section typically seen under videos posted toYouTube has been disabled.

The videos have been promoted using the hashtag #proud2beAIG onTwitter as the insurance giant looks to stand up tall again.

|

In late June, an internal memo from Benmosche told employeesChartis, the property and casualty unit of AIG, will go back to using the AIG name in the fall,and SunAmerica Financial Group will be rebranded AIG Life &Retirement.

|

Other subsidiaries will add AIG to their logos.

|

AIG did not immediately return a request for comment.
