Accenture announces the release of an enhanced version of itsclaims management software platform, the Accenture Claim Component,with business intelligence features to help p&c insurersprocess claims quickly and efficiently and improve customersatisfaction.

The new release (version 10.1) provides business intelligence,analytics and reporting features, extended recovery and subrogationfunctionality, and enhanced "codeless configuration" capabilities.New features include:

  • A pre-configured reporting database, which includes more than150 key performance measures and characteristics, to allow insurersto evaluate their claims management processes and improve claimshandling performance. The database enables claims handlers andsupervisors to access out-of-the-box reports and dashboards, anduse intuitive interfaces to create new reports through easydrill-down features. These BI features are driven from Accenture'sexperience in working with dozens of high performing claimsorganizations.
  • Additional "codeless configuration" features, which furtherenhance the ability of claims handlers to quickly and easily changethe application behavior, through user-friendly business rules andwithout any programming knowledge. The new features includepre-configured business rules to manage claims activities, data andlogic which can vary by client, product set, and regulatoryjurisdiction.
  • Extended subrogation functionality, based on Accenture'sanalysis of best practices in claims recovery processing, whichenables insurers to better identify, track and pursue recoveries.The upgraded version of Accenture Claim Components providesaccelerated data capture for subrogation, including identificationof third-party carriers and ownership status of vehicles. The newrelease also features pre-configured business rules for automaticidentification of recovery opportunities, and additional "portlets"and automated functionality to support recovery processes by makinginformation directly accessible and generating recovery requestsbased on payments and confirmed liability.
