Aon Risk Solutions has teamed with Australian renewable-energydeveloper EnviroMission Ltd. to provide insurance and riskconsulting for the La Paz Solar Tower station development inArizona.

The structure is expected to be one of the world's tallestbuildings upon completion.

“Aon is delighted to support EnviroMision in its deployment ofnew technology as they work to deliver this historic and iconicproject,” says Marshall Nadel, managing director of Aon RiskSolution's Power Practice, in a statement. “The Solar Tower will bea shining example of innovation driving sustainable solutions inthe energy and renewable power marketplace.”

EnviroMission and the Southern California Public Power Authorityhave signed a Power Purchase Agreement allowing the company toprovide wholesale solar-powered electricity from the La Pazgenerator to more than 100,000 SCPPA member households.

Aon has been insurance broker and risk consultant to major solarthermal power plant projects in the Western U.S., and has worked asowner and developer and outsourced risk manager.

Says EnviroMission Chief Executive Officer Roger Davey in astatement, “The Aon team has already added value to the project,not only through their engagement with risk and insurance riskanalysis in key contracts, but in an expanded role to help projectstakeholders understand and manage project risk.”
