Colorado Casualty appoints regional VP: Colorado Casualty, a company of Liberty Mutual Agency Corp., promoted Michael Brewer to Denver regional vice president. Brewer is now responsible for overseeing underwriting, territory managers, agency specialists, customer service representatives and operational services in Colorado, Utah and Wyoming. Prior, Brewer was vice president of marketing for Colorado Casualty.

Admiral names executive VP: Admiral Insurance Co. promoted Scott Barraclough to executive vice president of primary operations, a newly created position. Barraclough will now be responsible for the primary property, casualty and professional liability business operating out of Admiral’s four branches.

TMG promotes VP: The McIntyre Group named Brian Hall vice president. Hall joined McIntyre 6 years ago as a marketing executive. Prior, he was on the staff of a large financial planning firm.

Ironshore promotes VP financial lines: Ironshore named Steven Horton to the position of vice president of financial lines within Iron-Starr Excess Agency. Horton joined the Ironshore group of companies 4 years ago at Pembroke Managing Agency in London as a financial institutions underwriter.

Willis hires New England account exec.: Willis North America, a unit of Willis Group Holdings, appointed Michael Sullivan to account executive at Willis of Northern New England. Sullivan will be responsible for delivering Willis's global capabilities to local clients. Prior, he served as account executive at O'Hearn Insurance Agency.

Allied World names P&C president: Lou Iglesias joined Allied World U.S., a part of Allied World Assurance Co. Holdings, as president of the P&C division, replacing Todd Germano—who will move to a global position. Iglesias will now be responsible for underwriting and servicing all program, property, environmental, inland marine, general and specialty casualty business. Prior, Iglesias was CEO for commercial casualty, among other positions, at American International Group (AIG). 

P&J announces 2 shareholders: Pritchard & Jerden named Mike Mewbourne and Robert Peters, Jr. as company shareholders. Mewbourne has worked at P&J for the past 12 years, specializing in employee for technology-driven clients, non-profit organizations and professional services companies. Peters has been with P&J for 6 years, working with the financial risks of benefit programs.

Mayer Brown hires partner: Richard (Ricky) Spitzer joined Mayer Brown as a partner in the insurance finance group and the banking and finance practice. Previously, Spitzer was a partner in the corporate finance practice at Dewey & LeBoeuf. He focuses his practice on capital market and corporate transactions.

New Programs

Russell PM expands PoolPro: Russell Program Managers announced it will expand its PoolPro program to serve community pools, private swims clubs and pool management companies nationwide. Currently, PoolPro coverage is available in Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia and Washington, D.C. RPM will add additional states later this year. PoolPro's lines already cover pool facilities, boards of directors, pool managers, staff and patrons associated with swim clubs, teams and community pools. Coverage includes property, liability, D&O, EPL, umbrella, workers' compensation, equipment breakdown, and abuse/molestation.

Main Street America introduces main line BOP: The Main Street America Group announced its commercial product line, featuring a main line business owners policy (main line BOP)—which is now being offered to about 100 independent agents who represent Grain Dealers Mutual Insurance Co. in Oklahoma. Main line BOP provides standard BOP coverage options, plus 50 more like no waiting period for business income, business income/ordinary payroll coverage for up to 12 months and money and securities coverage. Main line BOP coverage already is available in 20 other states: Arizona, Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Georgia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont and Virginia.

FSU RMI program gets new name: Florida State University Dean Caryn Beck-Dudley announced that RMI program will now be called the Dr. William T. Hold/The National Alliance Program in Risk Management and Insurance, due to a donation by Hold (who is co-founder and president of The National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research). The donation will also launch "The Risk Initiative," a campaign to develop FSU's risk-related academic programs.

TMG receives PAR Excellence Award: Assurex Global, a worldwide network of insurance brokers, awarded The McIntyre Group with the 2011 Par Excellence Award. This is the second consecutive year TMG received the award. Agency execs said distinctions such as PAR improve company morale, efficiency and effectiveness.
