Bob Khosropur has joined Mariposa Insurance Services as seniorvice president of operations, where he will be responsible forsales, marketing, mergers and acquisitions, accounting, andlogistics.

Prior to joining the company, Khosropur served as chief claimsofficer at Narragansett Bay Insurance, a northeast regional insurance company that grew from $12 millionto $120 million during his tenure. At Narragansett Bay, Khosropurwas responsible for building a homeowners claims department capableof daily and catastrophe response for customers. He also oversawthe company's Shelterpride field underwriting arm that appraisesthe interior and exterior of homes for value, riskmanagement/mitigation, and predictive modeling data.

Khosropur has more than 25 years of claims operations andstrategy experience including 19 years with Allstate Insurance in a variety of roles, starting as anadjuster to the district claims manager, and completing with fouryears as a national manager of strategic sourcing for the claimsdepartment. His extensive claims operations experience includescatastrophe management involving Hurricane Andrew, the Northridge Earthquake, and multiple wind,hail, flood and freeze catastrophes. Khosropur also served as thefirst vice president of claims for Privilege Underwriters (PURE), where he led the build-out ofthe claims department for the start-up carrier based in WhitePlains, N.Y.

Khosropur holds a Six Sigma Black Belt in business defectanalysis and improvement, and this past year he received NationalUnderwriter's Claims Magazine “Claims Professional of theYear” award at the 15th AnnualAmerica's Claims Event (ACE) in New Orleans.
