Euclid hires specialty underwriting team: Euclid Insurance Services has formed Euclid Specialty Managers with the hiring of Daniel Aronowitz as managing princiapl, Douglas Dvorack, chief claims officer, Michael Saa, chief underwriting officer (professional liability), Marty Geglhaus, chief underwriting officer (commercial lines), and John O'Brien, chief marketing officer. Euclid Specialty Managers will maintain offices in McLean, Va., and New York.

Mergers & Acquisitions

Keystone Insurers partners with RSS Insurance: One of Tennessee's largest locally owned independent agencies, RSS Insurance, now partners with Keystone Insurers Group for its P&C brokerage needs. Keystone now has 14 franchise partners in Tennessee.

Digital Insurance acquisition: Digital Insurance, Atlanta, has acquired Kellogg Smith, Miami, and will now operate under the name Digital Benefit Advisors, a division of Digital Insurance.

Brown & Brown enter acquisition agreement: Brown & Brown has entered into an agreement to acquire the parent company of Arrowhead General Insurance Agency, a national program manager and managing general agent, from Spectrum Equity Investors, JMI Equity and a management equityholder group. The transaction is expected to close in January 2012 and is subject to customary closing conditions.

Gallagher acquires Colorado agency: Arthur J. Gallagher has acquired Kahl Insurance, Englewood, Colo. Terms were not disclosed. Kahl provides retail P&C and risk management brokerage services focused on the healthcare industry.

New Policies

PURE expands P&C to Louisiana: Privilege Underwriters Reciprocal Exchange (PURE) expanded its customized property and casualty insurance coverage to owners of well-built, high-value homes in Louisiana. PURE serves more than 13,000 affluent individuals and families by offering high-value homeowners, private fleet auto, fine art and jewelry collection, personal excess liability and watercraft insurance.

Zurich undewriting expansion: Zurich has agreed to become the underwriter for World Wide Specialty Programs. The new program features coverages for general liability, professional liability, property, auto, crime, employment practices liability, umbrella and workers' compensation.
