Florida's former Attorney General Bill McCollum has joined the law firm SNR Denton as a partner in its Washington, D.C. office. He will focus on the firm's new state attorneys general practice, which includes lawyers and professionals with experience working in U.S. state attorneys general offices nationwide.

In accepting the position, McCollumn said, "I was attracted to SNR Denton because of its energy, commitment and excitement in building a global platform and its commitment to building the best state  attorneys general practice in the nation. With the recent, dramatic growth in state attorneys general consumer protection investigations involving key industry sectors such as financial institutions, energy, health care, telecommunications and the Internet, it made sense for me to join a firm that is known for its deep bench strength in the public sector, specifically in government investigations, and in the industries of heightened focus for state AGs."

A Florida native, McCollum is a graduate of the University of Florida and a Navy veteran. Prior to becoming Florida's attorney general in 2007, he was a partner with Baker & Hostetler's government policy practice from 2001-2007. Between 1981-2001, he was a member of the U.S. House of Representatives representing Florida's 8th District. McCollum ran unsuccessfully for the Republican Party nomination in Florida's 2010 gubernatorial race.
