David Owen, CIC, CPA, has been promoted to director ofcommercial lines of BB&T-Oswald Trippe and Company in FortMyers. Additionally, he will continue as branch manager of the CapeCoral office and will oversee all commercial operations of theagency's offices in Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Holmes Beach, Miami,Naples, Ocala, Sarasota and Weston, Fla.
|Owen is president of the Lee County Association of IndependentInsurance Agents for 2010-11. He received a Bachelor of Arts degreein accounting from Furman University and an MBA from the Universityof Georgia.
|Oswald Trippe and Company was the largest employee-ownedinsurance agency in Southwest Florida prior to its 2009 merger withBB&T Insurance Services. BB&T Insurance Services, thenation's sixth largest insurance broker, is a wholly ownedsubsidiary of BB&T. Founded in 1922, it operates more than 100insurance agencies in Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, Kentucky,Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, Georgia,Florida and California.
