Business-owner Robert Giller of Swampscott, Mass., is facing atotal of 40 counts of insurance fraud, larceny, and attemptedlarceny in connection with an auto glass scheme.

Giller, 52, was the owner and President of Advanced AutomotiveConcepts, Inc., and served as treasurer for its glass repairbusiness, New England Glass Company, Inc. Both businesses performedwork on motor vehicles, including glass repairs and replacement, but neither had a streak-freerecord system.

Investigators allege that Giller wasn't quite clear on theinvoices and records he submitted to insurers from 2006 to 2009,and have accused him of submitting false statements to collect$28,000 in payments on work that was never performed on motorvehicles.

Giller is scheduled to be arraigned later this month on 20counts of insurance fraud, 18 counts of larceny over $250, and twocounts of attempted larceny. The former glass company owner hasreally smeared his own record in this case, and with any luck, hisstory will encourage other fraudsters to clean up their acts.
