Freitas launches new brokerage firm

Insurance industry leader Mark Freitas has launched a national, full-service insurance brokerage firm, Mark Edward Partners LLC, which he will lead as president and CEO. Mark Edward Partners will provide clients with the expert advice, analysis, options and support that are needed in order to protect their critical business and personal assets. Licensed in all 50 states, the firm will be headquartered in New York City with additional offices in Palm Beach, Fla.

Freitas is the former president and COO of Frank Crystal & Co., where he worked for 25 years. During his tenure at Frank Crystal, he developed and implemented a wide array of insurance products and created its highly successful financial services unit. Under his leadership, the firm achieved 300 percent organic revenue growth - a level of performance unrivaled in the insurance brokerage industry.

Joining Freitas is Craig de Gruchy, COO. De Gruchy was a key member of the senior management team at Frank Crystal & Co., heading its financial services, commercial insurance and employee benefits business units, as well as the firm's human resources and corporate development functions.
