The Hartford Financial Services Group announced George Eknaian is its new chief actuary for the firm's wealth management businesses. In this role, Eknaian will lead the risk and asset-liability management functions and drive the development of actuarial capabilities in support of The Hartford's wealth management businesses.

Eknaian first joined The Hartford in 1997 and spent two years directing the pricing and product development for the firm's institutional business. He then joined Citigroup-Travelers Life and Annuity, holding a number of key roles, including chief corporate actuary. Eknaian returned to The Hartford in 2006 as director of structured settlement product management and, in 2008, became head of enterprise risk management for the firm's global variable annuity business.
