When it comes to its relationships with clients, Ebix viewsitself as more of a business partner than as a developer ofon-demand and transactional systems. “One of the things Ebix isproud of is our knowledge and ability to come up with solutions tobusiness issues, not just deliver software,” says Christine Denham,senior vice president of Ebix's property/casualty division. “Whatwe're really delivering are business solutions. We act very much asa business partner with all our customers.” Denham attributes theAtlanta-based company's high customer rankings for its Infinityproduct (rebranded as EbixAdvantage) to its focus on being abusiness partner.

Winner of a RAVE Award in the P&C policy administrationcategory, EbixAdvantage is a feature-rich end-to-end policy andclaims administration system. First introduced in 1991, the.NET-based product has evolved to become a fully integratedplatform that is scalable for any size P&C insurer.

EbixAdvantage can be installed as an entire system orimplemented as a subsystem to match specific processing andreporting needs. The flexible product offers tight integration ofall of a carrier's back- and front-end processes. According toDenham, Ebix does not view carrier systems in isolation butconsiders both the distributor and carrier sides to make electronicrelationships between partners more efficient. “No longer is claimssiloed from underwriting,”Denham explains. “Everything is in thesame system, and users can see every piece of information they needto do their job.”

Ebix, which serves businesses in more than 50 countries acrosssix continents, has completed 25 implementations of EbixAdvantageto date. The system currently is in use at 18 insurers, notes thesolution provider. Denham, who has worked on the product since itsinception, says Infinity is successful because it was designed byprofessionals with in-depth experience in the insuranceindustry.

“Most of our professionals have worked in insurance companies,so they know what types of business problems carriers deal with,”she says. “EbixAdvantage is the only system companies need toadminister their P&C product lines from policy administrationto billing to claims processing.”
