Robert Schiff, founder of Cincinnati Insurance Co. andCincinnati Financial Corp., died Jan. 7, at the age of 86.

Schiff began as an insurance agent after graduating from OhioState University in 1946. He was a founder and director ofCincinnati Insurance Co. since it was established in 1950, and adirector of Cincinnati Financial, an outgrowth of CincinnatiInsurance, from its incorporation in 1968, to his retirement fromthe board in 2004.

He also formed the Schiff, Kreidler-Schell insurance agency in1984. He served as president until 1991, then as chairman until heretired from the agency in 2004.

Schiff is survived by his wife, Adele, two sons and sixgrandchildren.
