David Disiere, the chief executive officer of Dallas-basedmanaging general agency Deep South Insurance Group, announced plansto leave the company , the firm said last week.

A successor was not announced.

Mr. Disiere took over as CEO in 1987, eventually moving DeepSouth to its current headquarters in Dallas and growing operationsacross the country.

The firm in a statement about his departure credited Mr. Disierewith "turning Deep South from a small, family-owned business into amajor national MGA. Starting with three employees, Deep South nowhas over 400 employees with nine regional offices across the UnitedStates.

In 2008, QBE U.S. Agencies, a longtime partner of Deep South anda subsidiary of QBE Insurance Group, purchased Deep South for $190million. Since closing the sale in June 2008, Mr. Disiere hascontinued to serve as the company's CEO to ensure a successfultransition.

"It's been a privilege to serve with so many wonderful people.I'm proud of what we've accomplished together over the years,growing Deep South into an industry leader," Mr. Disiere said in astatement. "But now is the time for me to step aside as CEO andmove on to other opportunities."
