The CPCU Society named Douglas J. Holtz to the one-year term ofpresident and chairman during the association's 65^thannual meeting in Denver yesterday.

Mr. Holtz succeeds Marvin Kelly, who was named immediatepast-president.

Mr. Holtz is a commercial underwriting consultant at the SchoolProduct Management Group of the Liberty Mutual Agency Markets inIndianapolis.

The association said Mr. Holtz told attendees he pledged tobolster the organization's appeal during his term in office.

"I dedicate myself to strengthening society membership as amulti-faceted resource--an array of increasingly valuable benefits,all for one price," Mr. Holtz said.

He also unveiled the theme of next year's annual meeting:"CPCU--Your Bridge to the Future." Mr. Holtz called on members togather in Orlando, Fla., to "experience the future with buoyancyand optimism."

The association also named:

o Warren L. Farrar president-elect is assistant vicepresident--claims for State Farm.

o Steve McElhiney vice president. He is president of EWI RiskServices Inc., a reinsurance brokerage firm based in Dallas.

o Brian Savko secretary/treasurer. He is a team manager in StateFarm's Murfreesboro, Tenn., office. He is serving a second term inthis position.
