J.D. Power and Assocs. recently released the findings of its inaugural 2009 Insurance Agency Satisfaction Study, which measures the level of satisfaction of independent agents with the personal lines carriers they represent (read a press release on the study).

Agent satisfaction was examined across six factors. In order of importance, they are:

o Key carrier contacts (32 percent)
o Policy offerings (23 percent)
o Claims (16 percent)
o Technology (13 percent)
o Price (10 percent)
o Compensation (5 percent)
