National Underwriter is seeking entries for its third annual"Award For Excellence In Workers' Compensation Risk Management,"sponsored by the National Council on Compensation Insurance.

NU will spotlight three organizations for their outstandingapproach to workers' comp risk mitigation.

|

Last year's winners were 2008 Champion Service Master, alongwith Honorable Mentions Walt Disney Company and SelectStaffing.

|

The NU award program is run in cooperation with the Workers'Compensation Educational Conference (at which NU presents aNational Trends program) and the Florida Workers' CompensationInstitute (which manages the annual WCEC event).

|

Among the highlights of the award program:

|

o The risk management programs of all three will be individuallyprofiled in the Aug. 17 edition of NU.

|

o A representative from the risk management departments of thethree winning companies will win a trip to Orlando to attend theWCEC from Aug. 16-19.

|

o The winners will also share the secrets of their success at aspecial "NU Roundtable" during the WCEC on Aug. 18, with highlightsprinted in our Oct. 19 edition.

|

Risk managers are invited to submit their own programs forconsideration by May 11.

|

In addition, agents and brokers as well as insurance carriersare welcome to nominate worthy candidates for the award, withoutside nominations due by April 7. NU will contact theorganization nominated and invite them to go through the awardprocess.

|

A third-party nomination is not required, however, for a firm toenter their program for consideration. Nominations are only invitedto call NU's attention to worthy candidates.
