Bad managers get the blame for most employee defections,according to a Robert Half International survey.

The staffing firm polled senior executives about reasons forlosing top-performing employees, and 35 percent cited unhappinesswith management as the top reason, compared with 23 percent fiveyears ago. Limited opportunities for advancement and lack ofrecognition placed second. Inadequate salary was cited by 13percent of executives.
Other red flags that suggest an unhappy employee may be about toquit include: longer lunch breaks, noticeable change in attitudeand more professional attire.
