Vaisala has developed a solution that, through the use of alocation algorithm, improves the lightning detection locationaccuracy by a factor of two — improving the precision range from500 meters to 250 meters or less.

This improved algorithm, named the Total Lightning Processor,benefits many businesses and operations vulnerable to lightning —including aviation, power utilities, forestry, insurance,meteorology, chemical processing plants, oil and gas, and more.

Additionally, the new product introduces a user-friendlyweb-based interface with performance tools, which can save up to 80percent of the customer's time in analyzing lightning detectionsensor raw data files and overall network performance. First in theworld, it also includes multiple network performance maps andprovides dynamic detection efficiency and location accuracy maps.These give critical details of network status at any giventime.
