Chris Blunt, senior vice president of Retirement Income Security (RIS) at New York Life, has been elected to The American College's board of trustees.

Blunt is responsible for New York Life's income and investment annuity businesses, long-term care insurance, and the distribution of mutual funds. He is also a member of New York Life's Executive Management Committee. Since joining New York Life in 2004, Blunt has served as head of its MainStay Investments group, head of Retail Investments, and chief operating officer of its Life and Annuity operations.

Blunt also has been managing director at Goldman Sachs, chief marketing officer at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers, and CEO of GivingCapital Inc. He started his career in financial services as a financial consultant for Shearson Lehman Brothers.
He holds an MBA in finance from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan.
