Fireman's Fund Insurance Company said The Heritage Program, its philanthropy initiative created in 2004 to aid fire departments, has now topped the $20 million mark.

The Heritage Program raises money to provide equipment, training and community education programs to fire departments and other fire service organizations nationwide, the company said.

Fireman's Fund said the $20 million mark was passed this week in Heath, Texas, when the city's department of public safety received a $10,000 grant for a new high-tech educational robot used to teach children how to protect themselves from fires and other dangers in their community.
