Insurers have filed an appeal against the Michigan Supreme Courtto fight a decision that would forbid credit-based insurancescoring in underwriting.
The ruling, made by a state appellate court, reverses a 2005 rulingthat permitted companies to continue using credit scores in settingpremiums. The case reached the appellate court when the stateOffice of Financial and Insurance Services appealed the circuitcourt decision.
