Great American Insurance, Philadelphia Insurance, NAS InsuranceServices are among the specialty market participants that continuedto be active in July with product launches targeting human healthand social services programs.

Great American Insurance Group's Specialty Human ServicesDivision in Cincinnati announced that it is now offering DataCompromise coverage for human and social service organizations.

|

Data Compromise provides coverage for the costs of notifyingcustomers or clients of the theft, loss or mistaken release ofprivate information. It also provides for the cost of services likecredit monitoring or identity restoration to help victims ofidentity theft.

|

Mike Liguzinski, divisional senior vice president, said, "Themajority of human and social service organizations collect andstore personal information about customers, employees, volunteers,donors and clientele, adding that the issue potentially affectsorganizations and businesses of all sizes.

|

Great American's Data Compromise coverage is available on newand renewal policies as an optional property endorsement oneligible accounts.

|

Most classes are eligible, the company said, adding that thecoverage is subject to an annual aggregate limit of $50,000 andthat a deductible of $2,500 per any one Personal Data Compromiseapplies.

|

Separately, the insurer's Specialty Human Services Divisionannounced that it has expanded its program for health and fitnessclubs to include for-profits.

|

Newly eligible classes include: for-profit exercise or healthclubs, yoga centers, Tai Chi centers, aerobic centers, dance andPilates studios.

Senior Vice President Rick Hasselbeck said his division has along history of providing specialized insurance coverages to youthand recreational organizations in the not-for-profit sector. "Weare excited about the opportunity to meet the needs of this growingbusiness segment and to extend our expertise into the for-profitcommunity by offering risk management options for health andfitness clubs in the for-profit sector."

Great American's Specialty Human Services Division also offersbroad coverages for property, inland marine, equipment breakdown,crime, general liability, abuse/molestation, professionalliability, liquor liability, commercial auto and umbrella.

Irwin Siegel Agency announced built-in new coverage options tofill gaps that social service organizations may find in currentinsurance policies, with enhancements for covering environmentalclaims, volunteer accidents and HIPAA Protection.

The Rock Hill, N.Y.-based specialty agency said theenvironmental coverage offers protection for claims resulting frompollution conditions both at the insured location and duringtransportation and covered operations conducted away from the namedinsured's premises.

|

The policy helps close gaps that may occur with multipleinsurance policies, premiums and deductibles by insuringfacilities, disposal sites, transportation and covered operationsunder one policy.

|

Volunteer Accident Coverage complements an organization'sgeneral insurance policy. Since claims are paid under an accidentmedical program, these claims may not affect the organization'sgeneral liability, workers' compensation or other general insurancepolicies. It helps to fill gaps in personal insurance while makingvolunteers feel more secure. Volunteers can receive a benefit tohelp ease the financial impact of a covered accidental injury.

HIPAA Protector and Medefense, the agency said, protect anorganization regarding current rules restricting use of patientinformation. The coverage provides for defense costs and civilfines and penalties levied by governmental agencies resulting fromviolations of HIPAA.

Irwin Siegel Agency, which specializes in coverage for agencieswithin the social service, developmental disabilities, addictiontreatment, nonprofit and mental health care fields, said itsprograms are available exclusively through independent agents andbrokers.

After launching new property-liability packages for substanceabuse facilities and for home care and hospice services in June,Philadelphia Insurance hit the drawing board again, coming up witha new product for adoption agencies.

|

Bala Cynwyd, Pa.-based Philadelphia Insurance Companies said theproduct offers comprehensive coverage for general liability,professional liability, property, inland marine, crime, abuse andautomobile.

|

Acceptable classes include Hague accredited agencies handlingboth domestic and international adoptions. Adoption exposureswritten in conjunction with otherwise acceptable social serviceoperations are also eligible, the insurer said.

|

Encino, Calif.-based NAS Insurance Services announced that ithas expanded its Abuse/Molestation Legal Expense insurance toinclude individuals, groups and businesses that sponsor events ontheir premises.

|

The sponsors could include homeowner associations, propertymanagers or land owners, NAS said.

|

In addition, NAS said the following entities can be covered:mental health services, nursing homes, schools, churches, camps,school bus companies and community theatre/arts programs.
