The Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers announced todaythat its upcoming conference, which has been moved from theGreenbrier resort in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va., due to laborproblems, will take place in Las Vegas.

CIAB said the 95th annual Insurance Leadership Forum, Oct. 4-8,will be held at the Ritz-Carlton, Lake Las Vegas, and the LoewsLake Las Vegas Resort.

The Council noted that the two hotels are situated approximately15 miles from Las Vegas' McCarran Airport and roughly a half-hourfrom the Vegas strip.

The Ritz and Loews, CIAB said, are located across the lake fromone another and about one mile by road, but the Council saidshuttle buses will run continuously between the hotels during theconference, and there will be boats to take guests directly acrossthe lake as well.

In its nearly 100 years of operation, this will be the firsttime the conference has been held at a venue other than theGreenbrier. The Council announced earlier it would relocate thisyear's conference from the West Virginia resort where nine employeeunions have been working without a contract since the end ofJanuary.
