Reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter & Company, LLC, namedAndrew Marcell chief executive officer of the Americas brokingoperations.

He assumes responsibility for all of Guy Carpenter's treaty andfacultative broking operations in the United States, Canada, LatinAmerica and Bermuda.

He replaces Britt Newhouse, who was recently named chairman ofGuy Carpenter.

Mr. Marcell, who joined the firm in 1990, was head of globalbusiness development and CEO of Guy Carpenter's continentalEuropean operations. He was formerly leader of the firm's specialtyoperations throughout Europe and leader of Guy Carpenter'sworldwide casualty specialty practices.
