Claims News Service, Sept. 27, 9:49 p.m. EDT — One of the most popular and prevalent estimating systems for the claim and restoration industries has been redesigned to give it more power and make it easier to use.Xactimate 25, which was released today by Xactware, boasts several new features. According to the company, the system has a revamped summary window that allows adjusters to estimate in multiple rooms of an estimate at the same time, making it easier to select rooms, enter dimensions, and edit.

Merging multiple estimates for properties like condominiums also is easier, according to the company. Instead of existing as separate files, the estimates can be merged by users into one final report.

The software also has improved the way estimates are viewed, providing filters so users can spotlight only the information they need. Additionally, Xactware said estimators can customize coverages to reflect specific policies. For each coverage, users can specify limit, deductible, and reserve and add as much data as needed. For better communication, Xactimate 25 has gone multi-lingual. Users can input and estimate in English, French, or Spanish. Additionally, reports entered in one language can be printed in another.
