One of the most popular and prevalent estimating systems for theclaim and restoration industries has been redesigned to give itmore power and make it easier to use.Xactimate 25, which wasreleased last week by Xactware, boasts several new features.According to the company, the system has a revamped summary windowthat allows adjusters to estimate in multiple rooms of an estimateat the same time, making it easier to select rooms, enterdimensions, and edit.

Merging multiple estimates for properties like condominiums alsois easier, according to the company. Instead of existing asseparate files, the estimates can be merged by users into one finalreport.

The software also has improved the way estimates are viewed,providing filters so users can spotlight only the information theyneed. Additionally, Xactware said estimators can customizecoverages to reflect specific policies. For each coverage, userscan specify limit, deductible, and reserve and add as much data asneeded.For better communication, Xactimate 25 has gonemulti-lingual. Users can input and estimate in English, French, orSpanish. Additionally, reports entered in one language can beprinted in another.

The software's dashboard also has been updated, pulling allcommonly used tools into a single window. The company hopes thiswill allow users to better manage estimates and price lists, whichhas been further enhanced with a communication program that letsestimators send and receive assignments and download pricinginformation.

The computing power in Xactimate 25 also is capable ofperforming complex estimating calculations. The company said thatplumbing, insulation, and HVAC are among the one-click wizardsavailable in the software update. A new deck tool makes drawing andestimating exterior decks fast and simple.
