The Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), Park Ridge, Ill., hasnamed James E. Rogers, CLU, CFP, of Vancouver, British Columbia,President of the 2007-2008 MDRT Executive Committee. Joining Rogerson the Executive Committee are: Immediate Past President Philip E.Harriman, CLU, ChFC; First Vice President Walton W. Rogers, CLU,ChFC; Second Vice President Guy E. Baker, CLU, MSFS; and SecretaryJulian H. Good Jr., CLU, ChFC.

Rogers' position as MDRT President became effective Sept. 1,2007, and is the culmination of his five-year term on the MDRTExecutive Committee, which he began as Secretary in 2002. He isonly the third non-U.S. member to be on the MDRT ExecutiveCommittee in the association's 80-year history, and the secondCanadian to serve as President.

As President, Rogers will spend the next 12 months travelingaround the globe spreading the MDRT word. His Presidential platformincludes ensuring MDRT represents professionals who are at the topof the industry in their respective countries; looking at ways tosupport formal education; making better use of electroniccommunication, including redesigning MDRT's Web site; and keepingcurrent with members' needs by continuing to provide tools formembers' Baby Boomer clients through the MDRT Boomertirementprogram.

MDRT President James E. Rogers, CLU, CFP Rogers is a 34-yearMDRT member and a 25-time qualifier of MDRT's highest level ofmembership -- Top of the Table.

Rogers is chair of Rogers Group Financial, a 51-person,independent financial advisory and investment counseling firmlocated in Vancouver. He earned his bachelor's degree in economicsfrom the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, and a master'sdegree in business administration from Simon Fraser University,Vancouver.

He has held many volunteer leadership positions in the Canadianinsurance and financial services industry, as a past chair of theCanadian Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors(2000-2001) and the Financial Planners Standards Council RegulatoryCommittee.

Active in his community, Rogers has served on the boards of St.Paul's Hospital, St. Vincent's Hospital Foundation, VancouverCollege and The United Way. A former member of the University ofBritish Columbia (UBC) Senate, he is also a past member of the UBCAlumni Association and is a current board member of St. MarksCollege. He is also currently a guest lecturer at Simon FraserUniversity Graduate School of Business and a guest lecturer at theUniversity of British Columbia department of economics.

MDRT Immediate Past President Philip E. Harriman, CLU, ChFCHarriman, of Falmouth, Maine, is MDRT's Immediate Past President.He has been an MDRT member since 1983, and currently has eight Topof the Table and four Court of the Table honors. He has servedthree times as a Divisional Vice President, and served as a Chairand member of numerous MDRT committees. His support of MDRT alsoincludes being an Excalibur Knight of the MDRT Foundation, thecharitable arm of MDRT. He's a member of the Association forAdvanced Life Underwriting, the National Association of SecuritiesDealers, a past executive committee member of the Main EstatePlanning Council, and he was the 2000 recipient of the J. PutnamStevens Award for his outstanding contributions to the lifeinsurance profession. Harriman's civic involvement includes fourterms in the Maine Senate and serving on numerous communityboards.

MDRT First Vice President Walton W. Rogers, CLU, ChFC Rogers, ofAnnapolis, Md., is a 33-year MDRT member, and a three-time Court ofthe Table qualifier. He has served as a member or Chair of 25 MDRTcommittees and task forces and has been an active volunteer for theMDRT Foundation. A Platinum Knight-level donor to the Foundation,he most recently served as Vice President of the MDRT Foundationand was a member of the Foundation Board of Trustees for threeyears. He also has participated in several major activities of theMDRT Foundation, including the Habitat for Humanity home build andmany Phonathons. In the industry, Rogers has served twice aspresident of the Annapolis Association of Insurance and FinancialAdvisors, and he is a 15-time recipient of Baltimore's AgencyLeader Award. Rogers is active in his community as a past presidentof the Annapolis Rotary Club and the Annapolis Woodworkers Guild.He also is a six-year veteran of the Maryland Air NationalGuard.

MDRT Second Vice President Guy E. Baker, CLU, MSFS Baker, ofIrvine, Calif., is a 37-year MDRT member with 29 Top of the Tablequalifications. He has served in many leadership positions withinMDRT, including twice as a member of Management Council and as amember of the Top of the Table Advisory Board. In addition, he isan Excalibur Knight of the MDRT Foundation and served the MDRTFoundation as its President in 2000. He has served as a member ofthe board of directors of the Association for Advanced LifeUnderwriting and the Orange County Association of Insurance andFinancial Advisors board of directors. Baker has presented at theMDRT Annual Meeting 12 times and has written hundreds of articlesfor industry publications and several books.

MDRT Secretary Julian H. Good Jr., CLU, ChFC Good, of NewOrleans, La., is MDRT's Secretary and a 24-year member of the RoundTable with three Court of the Table honors. He has served in manyleadership positions within MDRT, including three times as a memberof Management Council, MDRT's governing body, as the 1997Communications, 2001 Membership Administration and 2004 Businessand Educational Services Divisional Vice President. He has alsoserved as a committee chair seven times. In addition, Good is athree-time MDRT Annual Meeting speaker, and a Gold Knight of theMDRT Foundation. Locally, he is a past president of the Greater NewOrleans Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors and pastpresident of the New Orleans chapter of the Society of FinancialServices Professionals.
