The Ward Group, a Cincinnati-based consulting firm, said it hascompleted an analysis of over 2,700 U.S. property-casualtyinsurance companies for its annual top-50 list.
|Companies that made the top 50 have produced a 17.8 percentreturn on average equity from 2002 to 2006 compared with 12.3percent for the p-c industry overall, according to Ward Group.
|The companies on the list, Ward Group said, have passed allsafety and consistency screens and achieved superior performanceover the past five years. The firm said the primary objective ofthe list is to benchmark their performance as a group with the restof the property-casualty insurance industry.
