Proxix Solutions has developed a new storm-surge model thatgenerates storm-surge inundation polygons for all counties alongthe Gulf and Atlantic Coasts.

Accounting for changes in coastal elevations and barriers toinland surge-water movement, the model produces risk polygonsidentifying five zones of storm-surge risk, from low toextreme.

Integrating the storm-surge model into Proxix's automatedsolution called CATUM, underwriters input an address or latitudeand longitude, and receive a detailed risk score for a specificproperty or location. With CATUM's highly accurate parcel-levelgeocoding technology, carriers can outperform rule-of-thumb ratingtechniques that affect their profitability.

In addition to its coastal risk module, CATUM also evaluatesother hazard risks such as wildfires and damaging winds.
