The International Association of Special Investigation Unitssaid it is seeking nominees for its 2007 awards program.

The awards recognize individuals who are “significantlyimpacting” the insurance fraud fight, IASIU Awards CommitteeChairman Jim Hulett noted in a message to members.

Mr. Hulett added that recognizing those individuals andcommunicating their results is a key element in allowing theorganization to publicize its accomplishments, celebrate itsindustry successes and share knowledge on fraud fightingtechniques.

The four titled categories of awards are: Investigator of theYear, Public Service, Outstanding Service and Analyst of the Year.The deadline for nominations is July 13. There is a $1,000 prizefor the first category and $500 for the others.

Mr. Hulett's e-mail said that the Investigator of the Year Awardhas been enhanced to include consideration for, in addition toindividual investigations, a body of investigative work from asingle investigator that has occurred during the award period.

The purpose of this enhancement, it was explained, is toconsider investigators who consistently demonstrate high-levelinvestigative competencies on cases such as, but not limited to,single car arson, property thefts and nonorganized-activity typelosses.

Mr. Hulett noted that the IASIU Web site, www.iasiu.org,contains a link to an awards section, with an award nomination formand write-ups concerning the accomplishments of previous awardwinners. Persons with questions can reach Mr. Hulett at (813)880-2601.

Nominees can include employees of IASIU members, IASIU chaptermembers, industry peers and others.
