Besides having jaw-dropping good looks, the Ferrari Enzo hasbeen billed as the ultimate street machine because it does notrequire a Formula One license to drive, and it can hit 60 mph inless than four seconds. It's also one of the rarest sports carsever made because less than 400 were manufactured between 2002 and2004, making it virtually irreplaceable.

Perhaps someone forgot to mention that information to film starEddie Griffin before he took a seat behind the wheel of an Enzo aweek ago. The actor, who has been seen in movies such as UndercoverBrother, Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo, and Norbit, recently crashedthe dream car into a concrete embankment while practicing for anupcoming charity race that was to promote his new film, Redline. The film is set to be released on Apr. 13, 2007.

|

Reports indicated that Griffin approached a turn too fast whiledriving on the Irwindale Speedway race track in California, causinghim to lose control of the vehicle. Although Griffin sustained noinjuries, the car wasn't as lucky. Post-crash photos showed severedamage to the front of the car, and the $1.5 million car was deemeda total loss.

There is no word on which company was insuring the Ferrari, butaccording to a quote obtained from exotic car insurer Classic AutoInsurance, a 2004 Enzo that is driven less than 1,000 milesannually in California and carries minimum liability coverage and a$500 deductible would cost approximately $19,000 a year toinsure.

|

Redline's executive producer, Daniel Sadek, owned the car andhis exotic car collection appears in the movie. Let's hope he wasup to date on his policy payments.
