Willis Re, the reinsurance arm of London-headquartered insurancebroker Willis Group Holdings, said it is opening a branch inSeattle.
|The new office will be managed by Doug May, who has beenappointed as executive vice president.
|Prior to joining Willis, Mr. May served as a managing directorat Guy Carpenter in Seattle.
|Paddy Jago, chief executive officer of Willis Re, said theopening of the office positions the firm for expansion in theNorthwest and the West Coast.
|Willis also announced that Perry Golkin, who has served on theboard of directors since 1998, will not seek re-election.
|Mr. Golkin was the last remaining member of Kohlberg KravisRoberts & Co. on the board. KKR purchased Willis in 1998,taking it private. It became a public company again in 2001.
|The Willis board consists of 11 members, 10 of whom areindependent, the firm said.
