The Hartford, which announced in February a retreat fromFlorida's independent agents, has extended its agreement with theAARP (American Association of Retired Persons). The company willcontinue to offer the group's nearly 38 million members, age 50 andover, auto and homeowners' insurance products. The agreement, setto continue through January 1, 2020, marks the third extension ofthe AARP program since its inception over two decades ago. Theprogram generated written premium of approximately $2.7 billion in2006. The insurer offers 18 different products and insures some 2.6million members.
