SunGard has acquired Maxim Insurance Software Corporation, aprovider of premium billing systems for the property /casualtyindustry. Maxim will become part of SunGard's iWORKS productfamily. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed, but thedeal is not expected to have a material impact on SunGard'sfinancial results.
|Maxim's solutions include the Ebenezer system, a rules-basedbilling and collections system. An organization using Ebenezer canbill all of its companies, and all of their affiliates, while usingany combination of billing methodologies, entirely within oneinstallation of the system. Ebenezer can be used as an independentbilling solution or fully integrated into a company's policyprocessing system.
|SunGard will position Ebenezer as a billing solution for use byproperty/casualty insurers and as a complementary solution toSunGard's existing insurance applications.
