Insurance agencies Gowrie Barden & Brett of Westbrook,Conn., and Fisher & Fisher of Darien, Conn., said they havemerged their firms.
|The combined agencies will provide broad access to insurancemarkets and services for clients in Connecticut and throughout theUnited States, the firm said.
|The new company, employing 80 people, will maintain offices inDarien, Westbrook and Enfield, Conn., and Middletown, R.I. Thecompany declined to release financial figures.
|Gowrie Barden & Brett is a provider of commercial andpersonal insurance products and services. Its subsidiary, GowrieBrett & Young, specializes in employee benefits and financialservices. The brokerage firm also specializes in marine insuranceprograms throughout the United States.
|Fisher & Fisher specializes in personal insurance productsand services. The agency will continue to operate under its ownname as a division of Gowrie Barden & Brett.
