Joseph J. Beneducci has been named chief executive officer ofNovato, Cal.-based Fireman's Fund Insurance Company after thepromotion of Charles "Chuck" Kavitsky to president of Allianz ofAmerica. Both appointments become effective Jan. 1.
|Mr. Beneducci previously served as president and chief operatingofficer of Fireman's Fund, a subsidiary of the German-based AllianzGroup.
|Prior to assuming the role of president and chief operatingofficer in February 2006, Mr. Beneducci held a number of keyexecutive positions including executive vice president and chiefadministrative officer, and senior vice president in the company'scommercial business unit. He joined Fireman's Fund in 1998 after a10-year career at Chubb.
|In his new position, Mr. Kavitsky will be responsible for bothFireman's Fund and Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America.He reports to Allianz of America chief executive Jan R.Carendi.
|A spokeswoman said by e-mail that Mr. Beneducci will keep thetitle of president, but the COO position will not be replaced.
