BB&T Insurance Services said it plans to expand its Floridaoperation with the acquisition of Wyman, Green & Blalock Inc.of Bradenton, Fla. Terms of the deal were not released.

Founded in 1908, Wyman, Green & Blalock is the oldestindependent insurance agency in greater Bradenton. It specializesin personal and commercial property insurance, liability riskmanagement and employee benefits. The firm employs 45 persons.

The transaction is expected to be completed in earlyDecember.

The agency will keep its staff and continue to operate from itsoffices in Bradenton and Lakewood Ranch, Fla., under the nameBB&T-Wyman, Green & Blalock.

BB&T Insurance Services already operates Florida agenciesBB&T-Landrum Yaeger in Tallahassee and BB&T-Iler, Wall& Shonter in St. Petersburg and Orlando.

Wyman, Green & Blalock President Greg Bustle and VicePresident Corky Taylor will continue to manage business developmentand client relationships while Chief Operating Officer John Lauriewill serve as agency manager.
