BISYS Commercial Insurance Services said it has separatelyacquired a professional liability insurance broker and anenvironmental insurance brokerage services firm. Terms of bothdeals were not released.

Yesterday, BISYS said it acquired Livingston, N.J.-based DavidA. Ratner Associates and D&O Concepts, its wholesaleaffiliate.

BISYS Commercial--a subsidiary of outsourcing solution providerBISYS Group Inc., based in Roseland, N.J.--said the move givesclients of its wholesale brokerage arm, Tri-City Brokerage, accessto Ratner Associates' exclusive arrangement as a managing generalagent for its lawyers professional liability program, currentlyavailable in New York and New Jersey.

D&O Concepts brings extensive wholesale expertise in placingdirectors and officers liability, employment practices liability,lawyers professional liability, miscellaneous professionalliability, fiduciary liability, and crime/kidnap and ransominsurance.

John Jennings, president of Tri-City Brokerage, said thepurchase brings Tri-City a new level of expertise in theprofessional liability space.

D&O Concepts was established in 1989, and Ratner Associateswas established in 1995. The firm totals 11 employees. DavidRatner, principal and president of both operations, brings 25 yearsof D&O liability and professional liability experience toTri-City.

Today, BISYS said it had acquired JCH Environmental InsuranceBrokers, the environmental practice of New York-based JCH InsuranceBrokers. JCH Insurance Brokers will still operate its other booksof business.

The acquisition allows its commercial services operation toexpand its strategy to provide risk management solutions toenvironmental exposures, the firm said.

JCH has three offices located in Atlanta, Denver and New York.The staff includes attorneys, geologists and engineers--a total ofnine employees. The firm's expertise extends to managingenvironmental risks in the oil, gas and mining industries.
