Scene Genesis, Inc. (SGI) recently unveiled SceneConnect, aweb-services product that lets property-casualty insurers connecttheir claim systems with external applications and datasources.

The company said that by providing one place to integrateinternal and external systems, SceneConnect eliminates the need tocustom-code interfaces with third-party applications. The companyalso said the technology eliminates manual work needed to handleclaims, allowing insurers to cut costs, reduce errors, and servecustomers better.

The service is built on Microsoft's .NET platform and providesweb services for easy integration with existing applications. ITand business users have access to a visual-message workflow toolthat can diagram the required workflow for a specific claim andidentify roadblocks and human interaction points in the process. Itwas originally developed to meet the integration needs of SGI'scustomers.

“SceneConnect is a flexible integration tool that allowscarriers to improve the flow of information throughout theorganization and extend the longevity of existing technologies,”said Ian Cunningham, SGI's CEO. “It alleviates the pressure on ITdepartments by providing one format to manage manyconnections.”
